Belly is back with his new album titled ‘Immigrant’
Canadian born artist Belly released his new album mid October. The project houses 11 tracks and contains a pretty heavy list of features in Meek Mill, M.I.A. Yo Gotti, French Montana, Metro Boomin, Zack, and fellow XO label mates NAV and The Weeknd.
Two singles were released from the album back in May. ‘Maintain’ featuring NAV and ‘What You Want’ featuring The Weeknd.
Belly has been one of my favourite artists for a long time and when I heard this album, I was not disappointed. The project is fairly short, running just over 30 minutes, however this does not diminish the quality of the album. There is something for everyone, as Belly did not fail to deliver. There are songs that have deep meanings and make you think, such as the title track ‘Immigrant’ featuring Meek Mill and M.I.A. Whereas on the flip side, there are also songs on there you will find yourself nodding your head too, such as ‘Numbers’ featuring Yo Gotti.
This is another album of Belly’s I can listen to all the way through multiple times without skipping a track. Every time I listen to it, it always feels like I’m listening to it for the first time.
Even though I thoroughly enjoy every song on the album, my top 3 picks are:
- Dust (Ft. French Montana)
- Street Cathedral
After the release of his ‘Mumble Rap‘ album back in 2017, fans were waiting for Belly’s next body of work. Just over a year later, he comes back and drops ‘Immigrant’. With his unique penmanship and his ear for choosing fitting beats, Belly put together a great project that will hold fans over until his next release. I highly recommend this album to everyone. Even just one listen through will make you appreciate Belly as an artist.
