TV Shows You Can Watch On Canadian-Netflix, But Not In The US

Posted by: Marvin | Date: April 27th, 2020

I remember the days when people used to complain about Canadian-Netflix and how it didn’t have the content we wanted to watch. People would jump on VPNs or ghost their locations just to use the same app to stream one show. Fortunately (for us), with the rise of competing streaming apps like Disney Plus and Hulu, American-Netflix just isn’t what it used to be… and Canadian-Netflix is finding itself in the spotlight.

A while ago, I tweeted about watching Avatar: The Last Airbender on Netflix, and someone in the US had tweeted me back asking how that was possible. So, I did comparison of shows available on both the American and Canadian versions of Netflix – and to my surprise, Canada really showed out. Even carrying additional movies that its American counterpart did not have, such as Boyz In The Hood, Bad Neighbours, Wet Hot American Summer, Kill Bill and more.

I’m not sure how long it’s going to last, so I’d suggest to take advantage while most of us are in quarantine and have additional free time. Here are some shows that are available on Canadian-Netflix – and remember to keep staying safe indoors.

Chronicling basketball legend Michael Jordan and the ’97-’98 Chicago Bulls – ESPN’s 10-part docuseries finds itself available anywhere outside the US on Netflix with new episodes weekly – but requires a TV/cable provider if you’re in the US.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine

With Netflix dropping Season 7, it makes sense why Brooklyn Nine-Nine is currently #2 in Canada on the platform, following Extraction. Starring Andy Samberg (SNL, Lonely Island), Terry Crews (Everybody Hates Chris, White Chicks) and more – Brooklyn Nine-Nine hilariously follows NYC detectives after they are assigned a new captain (Andre Braugher).

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air

Re-watch your favourite Fresh Prince episodes with Canadian-Netflix as it currently carries all 6 seasons.

Avatar: The Last Airbender

Arguably one of the best animated series by Nickelodeon – it’s really unfortunate that Americans can’t watch this on Netflix, who have hinted at a movie re-make (THANK YOU!!!) which is currently listed on their website.

Shark Tank

Entrepreneurs get their chance to shoot their shot with some of the industry’s greats for investment opportunities – with a rotating panel including Mark Cuban, Lori Greiner, Kevin O’Leary and more.

Friends

Known as one of the most popular television sitcoms, you can watch all 10 seasons of Friends on Canadian-Netflix.
