This previous year was certainly one of evolution for Toronto DJ Eva Shaw. She decided to add to her repertoire, directing the music video for her ‘NT NT’ track featuring Omar Kadir and City Fidelia, alongside Henry Lipatov, later ending the year off with dropping her heavy music series, ‘4/4‘ with collaborator City Fidelia. Between travelling the world and performing shows, Eva Shaw has put out 9 explosive tracks in 2018 – all demonstrating Eva’s immense growth – showing that she excels in trap/hip-hop production as well as EDM.
My favourite Eva Shaw release of 2018 would be her collaborative project alongside City Fidelia, ‘4/4’ – a 4-track EP that was released as singles every Friday throughout the month of November, treating fans with music to bump to for the rest of the year and onward. The ‘4/4’ project is certainly one of Eva’s best to date, creating hip-hop in her own vision, complementing rap vocals by City and enlisting DB Bantino and Vincent Berry II as feature artists. As she fuses the essence of rock & roll with trap music, Shaw highlights her evolution in production – expanding her horizons for 2019.
