Comprised of the Toronto Raptor’s official DJ, 4KORNERS and music producer/Kyngdom Records founder Ashton Adams – electronic music duo 401 WST make their return this summer since their 2020 EP “Our House” with their brand new single and music video, “Won’t Put U Thru That” featuring Montreal-based rapper and singer Zach Zoya.
“Won’t Put U Thru That” is the first listen to 401 WST’s highly anticipated forthcoming sophomore EP “Our House Volume 2,” which is set to drop sometime this fall. “Won’t Put U Thru That is a love song made for the dancefloor that’s mostly about heartbreak and hope, but with a pulse,” says 4KORNERS in a statement about the inspiration behind their new single. “We wanted to make a classic love song by blending the energy of house music from the originators of the genre, paying homage to the godfathers like Frankie Knuckles, Marshall Jefferson, Larry Levan, Inner City and many more, but doing it our way with a modern twist, for the new generation of club and festival kids.”
“This is also an intentional collaboration of three Black artists coming together to celebrate house music’s Black culture roots and to create a song that everyone can enjoy and sing along to whether you are on the dance floor or driving in your car listening to it on the radio, ” add Ashton Adams. Through their mutual love for house music and its Black culture roots, its no wonder why the duo chose to work with rapper and singer Zach Zoya for their latest banger, as the rising Canadian star has been making waves since his debut EP “Spectrum” last fall. With 401 WST’s preview of their upcoming project getting us amped for the summer, we’ll definitely be looking out for its release this fall.
