Los Angeles-based rapper and producer HASEEB made noise in the rap scene with his clever and conscious LP ‘Growth’ which was released Summer 2018 – later earning itself over a million streams (and counting) – the emcee paves the way for himself as a First-Gen American practicing Muslim, rising the ranks in the world of Hip-Hop.

Through his cultural narration of his upbringing, HASEEB links his ancestral background with his love for his mother’s spices – which the rapper portrays in his latest single ‘Friday Fish‘. “As a first-generation American growing up in a Desi household, the main thing I had to connect with my culture was my mom’s spice cabinet.” the rapper tells XMPL in a statement. Through its music video – HASEEB is shown whipping up in the kitchen, cooking fish using his mother’s classic spices – celebrating his culture and the connections made through its food.
