With new music from Mansuki, Black Atlass – and rising artists such as Emanuel, Jared Daniel, Babe Ruth and 4TWNTY – you’ll find yourself jamming out to this ensemble of fresh new tunes.
‘Need You’ by Emanuel
Emerging Canadian R&B artist Emanuel dropped his first single last month entitled ‘Need You,’ which was shortly shared by actor and producer Idris Elba, campaigning #NeedYou2020 – a compilation video of fans from around the world as they cope with our current situation, showing that we are all connected. The video was later used as the official visual for ‘Need You.’ The single serves as a first listen to Emanuel’s debut EP ‘ALT THERAPY – Session 1: Disillusion‘ which is set to release sometime this Spring.
‘Overdue’ by Mansuki ft. Twista
Toronto-based singer and songwriter Ray “Mansuki” Ligaya dropped a fresh R&B track in March with a surprise feature, enlisting rapper Twista on his single ‘Overdue.’ The Rhythm & Flow judge went straight IN on his verse – which inspired TikTok creator Xavier Henry to launch the trend #OverdueChallenge on the platform. The single was produced by Marco Cian and Avius. With ‘Overdue’ being Mansuki’s first release since his 2018 album ‘Feel’ – we’re amped to see what he has planned for his next release.
‘Give It Away’ by Jared Daniel
Calgary-based artist Jared Daniel dropped his first single ‘Give It Away‘ early March followed by his music video – directed by Oliver Banyard. The single is the first offering from his upcoming debut EP ‘Garden‘ which is said to “meet listeners in their darkest and gently guide towards hope.” With soulful hooks and Timberlake-esque licks, Jared Daniel is undoubtedly a fresh sound that has us anticipating his debut full-length project.
‘Circles’ by Babe Ruth
Reppin’ the Capital with her new EP ‘The Introduction,’ Ottawa-based rapper and singer Babe Ruth combines her poetic and songwriting skills on the mic over smooth piano while she delivers on her track ‘Circles.’ With ‘The Introduction’ being Babe Ruth’s first full-length project, we’re looking forward to hearing what the Gatineau-native has in store.
‘4AM’ by Manny Norté ft. 6LACK, Rema and Tion Wayne
It’s at times like these that we absolutely need uplifting music – which easily describes Manny Norté‘s latest single release – ‘4AM‘ where America, Ghana, Nigeria and the UK meet for a festive track. Recruiting Rema, 6LACK and Tion Wayne – Norté blesses us with a wholesome track to let loose to.
‘By My Side’ by Black Atlass ft. SONIA
Last month, Canadian XO artist Black Atlass released his second infectious single ‘By My Side‘ featuring Parisian singer SONIA, following his single ‘Lie To Me’ off of his latest full-length album release ‘Dream Awake‘ – which he describes as “a metaphor to describe the feeling of lust. The album is a journey about the joy and chaos two people experience in the process of coming to know one another and ultimately falling in love.” Black Atlass’ Dream Awake the album is out now!
‘Freak Shit’ by 4TWNTY
Before dropping their EP ‘IVXX‘ in celebration of their shared birthday – Canadian R&B duo 4TWNTY released their single ‘Freak Shit‘ and paired it with a hypnotic and steamy dance video to give us a taste before their project release.
