JOEY DJIA Releases New Single ‘Joey’
In 2018, we were privileged to witness the Australian singer collaborate with Omar Kadir on one of our favorite tracks ‘Villain’. Now JOEY DJIA is breathing life into a classic alternative song entitled ‘Joey’. The classic song was originally performed by Concrete Blonde, now it officially has a modern sound that was inspired by it’s history. Songs like ‘Don’t Love Your Friends’ & ‘Save Me’ were part of Joey’s amazing catalog of 2018, but this has been Joey’s first release on music platforms in 2019 and she’s already creating waves. Releasing this track, Joey decided to give back to her fans with an acoustic video on YouTube as well as showing them her confidence in taking on such a big rendition.
Joey singing the song ‘Joey’ was really surreal, as through making the song seem like the singer is speaking to herself, this song really allows your imagination to grow. The track has a constant strumming guitar from beginning to end, but the highlight is Joey’s amazing vocals. Taking on a haunting approach, she really controls the song as she elevates her voice leading the guitar. On this track, the guitar compliments the vocals extremely well.
