Latin-GRAMMY award winner Ludmilla and Platinum recording artist Ryan Castro have joined forces for their new Latin-heater, ‘Piña Colada.’
Just in time for the summer season ahead of us, ‘Piña Colada’ brings together Brazilian sensation Ludmilla and Colombian hitmaker Ryan Castro for a Latin-pop song sung completely in Spanish, making this Ludmilla’s first fully Spanish record. Last May, Ludmilla was enlisted by Argentinian artist Emilia for their song ‘No_se_ve.mp3’ – another Latin hit, combining both Spanish and Portuguese languages which earned Ludmilla her first RIAA certified gold hit and marked her Billboard debut on the Billboard Global (Excl. U.S.) chart.
The ‘Piña Colada’ music video was filmed in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and made quite the wave on X/Twitter with their exclusive behind-the-scenes looks, showcasing the video’s colorful and playful poolside vibe. Both Ludmilla and Ryan Castro deliver heat on this record, making for a perfect addition to our upcoming summer playlists.
The collaboration comes ahead of Ludmilla’s Coachella debut next Sunday, April 14th and April 21st. Being the first Afro-Latina to reach over one billion streams on Spotify, she’s no stranger to a global audience. Her most recent album, ‘Numanice #3 (Ao Vivo)’ debuted at #1 on the Spotify Top Albums Global Chart, bringing with her Brazil’s vibrant music scene to the forefront.
Ryan Castro is also gearing up for his next chapter with the release of his upcoming debut album, ‘El Cantante del Ghetto.’ The Peso Pluma and Karol G collaborator has been working on his own international introduction with his new album, and if its anything like his latest single releases and collaborations – we know there’s much more heat on the way.
