The Fast & Furious franchise broke the internet this morning with the announcement of their latest and unexpected collaboration with Kodak Black, NLE Choppa, Jimin of BTS, JVKE and Muni Long for their new song “Angel Pt. 1” from the official ‘Fast X’ motion picture soundtrack.
The announcement came with the official music video trailer, where we can hear both Muni Long and Jimin harmonizing beautifully together on the chorus. Although the collaboration may seem random and came much to a surprise for many fans – the music video teaser has proven that this is going to be an unreal collaboration, combining the best in R&B, pop and hip-hop for a powerhouse crossover.
Earlier this year, the Fast and Furious franchise teased fans with the release of a new Safari Riot remix of Daddy Yankee’s hit Gasolina, featuring Myke Towers – which served the first listen into the ‘Fast X’ soundtrack. Last month, it was announced that Brazilian artist and Latin-Grammy winner Ludmilla was not only going to feature on the soundtrack, but also make a guest appearance in the movie.
It was also announced that J Balvin, Justin Quiles, Dalex and Argentinian artist Maria Becerra were also going to feature on the album but no song titles or official track list have been announced. J Balvin, Maria Becerra and Ludmilla were all recently seen together alongside Vin Diesel and Michelle Rodriguez promoting the film at the ‘Fast X’ press conference in Florida – which could *possibly* mean that they have a collaboration together for the soundtrack. If it’s true, then we already know the song is going to be fire.
Just last week, the franchise followed up with the second official single from the album, “Won’t Back Down” with YoungBoy Never Broke Again, Bailey Zimmerman and Dermot Kennedy – another unexpected yet powerful collaboration. So far, with all these incredible artists from across the globe being brought together for the album, it’s clear the ‘Fast X’ soundtrack will be in the running for original motion picture soundtrack of the year.
