It’s been a wild week for music! We saw offerings from all music genres, from seeing Hailee Steinfeld and Anderson .Paak collab for their new single “Coast” or Charli XCX’s “Hot Girl” to Tem’s graceful rendition of “No Woman No Cry” – this week for music did not disappoint. With all the new drops, we wanted to highlight some of our favorite new releases for songs, EPs and albums for this week.
Sage Harris follows his highly praised Figure It Out EP with a Jamaican vibe – his new single “In My Bed.” The Queen B, Beyoncé made her return this year with her deeply awaited “RENAISSANCE” album, stating that this is the first instalment out of a three act project. NAV also recruits Lil Baby and Travis Scott for his new banger “Never Sleep.”
Toronto-based R&B artist K. Forest released his new EP “Hyde Out” and followed with the drop of his new music video for his title-track. Spanish singer Rosalía has been making noise online, from her chewing gum moments on stage – to her viral BIZCOCHITO on TikTok, the Spanish singer keeps the momentum high with her new song “DESPECHÁ.”
Rising Toronto singer Lou Val also released his new EP “Goûter” and shares that his debut album in the works. The R&B artist posted on his Instagram, “I wanted to make this ep unique enough to hold y’all while I work on my debut album . Thank you to all my creative friends for bringing my abstract ideas to life, I wouldn’t be me without y’all.“
Canadian pop singer Charlie Houston dropped a three-pack singles ensemble titled “Dinosaurs In The Garden.” Arkells and Lights turn up the speakers for their new track “Human Being” while Calvin Harris teams up with Normani, Tinashe and Offset for their powerhouse single “New To You,” both Arkells and Calvin Harris dropping singles ahead of their forthcoming albums.
