We’ve officially entered the new Savannah Ré era as the two-time JUNO Award winning R&B artist shares the first glimpse of her upcoming project with her new single and music video, “About U.”
The Toronto-based singer begins the next artistic chapter with the announcement of her now highly anticipated sophomore EP, titled “No Weapons.” Following her critically acclaimed debut EP, Opia – this new project is said to be a “collection of unapologetically real, heartfelt songs that bounce.” The lead single “About U” is co-written by close collaborator Marcus Semaj and produced by Jack Rochon and fellow JUNO Award nominee YogiTheProducer. With lyrics like, “Can’t play this game forever, let’s get this shit together. You know I make you better, but you make it hard,” Savannah keeps it real while delivering a warm R&B track.
With her solid reputation for visually conceptualizing her music and project’s aesthetic as we saw with Opia, Savannah steps up and stays consistent as she brings to life the ethereal world of “About U” as the music video’s co-director alongside Alex P. Smith.
With no official release date announced for “No Weapons” as of yet, for now we’ll be streaming “About U” and wait to see what the rising R&B star has in store for her sophomore project.
