XMPL: Do you have any artists that you admired growing up?
Z: Growing up I always admired a lot of female artists. I loved and still do love Britney Spears, Mariah Carey, Christina Aguilera, Aaliyah and Beyonce just to name a few! They have definitely influenced my career in so many ways. They’re all beautiful, powerful, successful women in the industry and I always remember thinking to myself when I was younger “I want to be just like that when I grow up.”
I’ve heard that you’re from New Jersey, are there any artists from NJ that you admire?
I am! I’m from this little town in Bergen County called New Milford. Of course, we have so much talent coming out of New Jersey…Whitney Houston is one huge example! Some of my all time favorites include The Jonas Brothers and Halsey!
Any artists that you’d one day hope to work with?
Oh I have a whole list! I definitely want to work with Chris Brown, Ty Dolla $ign, Ozuna, Bad Bunny, Kehlani, Ariana Grande and the list goes on!
Late last year, you released a single featuring Tory Lanez, titled Special 4 U. What was your favorite thing about working on this track?
It had to be working in the studio with Tory. He is such a fun and genuine person. I loved being able to really connect with him while he was to coming up with his verse.
How was it working with Tory in the studio?
It was great! Tory is such a talented artist and creative! I definitely was able to learn from the way he records and comes up with melodies on the spot.

Your newest single, On My Shit – from my understanding, is your first solo single. What did enjoy most about working on this song?
Yes! OMS is my first solo single! I really enjoyed being able to tap into the sexy, confident side of me which is so exciting because I know when people or girls listen to this track it will give them that same vibe I was feeding off while recording, and hopefully help them feel sexy and confident too
If you could get any line from your newest single, On My Shit, on a T-shirt, what would it be?
I’m actually working on this right now! I have a few lines in mind! “I know you lying,” “I got this,” and “I ain’t really got the time.”
In an interview with Magic 98.3, you revealed that your background is Dominican. Have you ever been to the DR?
Yes I am a proud Dominicana! I have been to the DR a few times. Its honestly one of the most beautiful islands there is. The weather is always sunny and bright, the people are always friendly and the beaches have the whitest sands and clearest waters.
Do you have any favourite food from the DR?
Oh yes! I absolutely love Mofongo! Which is basically plantains with garlic and your choice of protein covered in a savory sauce. Its soooo delicious!
Would you consider working on a Spanish track with a Latin artist?
Absolutely! I’m currently working on a Spanish project at the moment so you will be seeing that somewhere in the near future.
Do you have any current Spanish songs that you’re listening to?
I listen to Spanish music all the time. I really love Ozuna and Karol G’s music. Right now one of my favorites to jam out to is a song by Karol G called Pineapple.
