‘ATYPICAL’ Season 2 On Netflix

ATYPICAL Is Returning September 7th On Netflix.

ATYPICAL has been one of my favorite shows on Netflix, I am so excited that season 2 is returning next month! I will try avoiding spoiling season 1, but if you haven’t already watched this show it’s time for you to binge. Your average family with their average problems this show revolves around a unique problem that we really do tend to turn a cold shoulder too as a society.

Sam (Keir Gilchrist) is one of the main characters, he plays a teenage son & brother who struggles with autism, very intelligent his issues seem to be things that society is ill equipped for. That’s the heart breaking part of the show is how eye opening it is to see the lack of knowledge we have in dealing with autism. His breakdowns and behavior really effects the people that love him, his younger sister Casey (Brigette Lundy-Paine) has one of the most important roles in this series. She is a Track & Field prospect who has to battle between choosing to follow her running dreams or pausing her life for her brother. She is heavily effected by responsibilities as she feels like she has to play big sister big sister all the time. Her closest family relationship is with her father Doug (Michael Rapaport) who in the show really faces his fears in dealing with his son and grows as a person.

Taking on more responsibilities with his son, Doug becomes one of my favorite two characters along with Casey. He is married to Elsa (Jennifer Jason Leigh) who starts off as the rock of the family, the best in dealing with Sam and his breakdowns. As the show goes on and the rest of the family starts being more responsible with Sam, Elsa slowly starts turning into the villain.

I am not going to get into the other characters and the rest of the plot because I personally hate spoilers! This show does offer a ton of humor, emotions and is very educational. I am so excited that it is coming back and can’t wait to see what they have in store for us!
