Summer Date in Effect for Legalization of Marijuana

July 1st, 2018. A day that was plucked out of thin air and placed on the calendars of a few thousand Canadians waiting for the legalization of recreational cannabis. Though not officially stated by the PM, Justin Trudeau, many people figured they’d be able to spark a j outside of the parliament building in Ottawa on Canada day 2018.

“The date will not be July 1, I can assure you of that,” Trudeau said. “I don’t know where that date came from.” -Direct quote from The Star.com (original publication by Justin Tang/ The Canadian Press).

Though that may not be the case, we should be able to expect the legalization of recreational marijuana between June 21st to as late as Sept 22nd; as it was brought up, at the interview the PM had with the TVA Network in Quebec, Dec. 2017, that summer dates will in-fact be put into effect.

Many company’s and individuals are already diving head fist into the “Canadian green rush”. We see them not waiting for any barriers to arise as some are already looking to find a source for production and distribution before legalization has even commenced. With, others buying stocks in the cannabis market before shares skyrocket in the upcoming months.

Hopefully it’s safe to say with all the backing marijuana has had over the last few years- with, medicinal marijuana already flourishing and, cannabis activists making their cause; we will see a stable and legitimate legalization date soon enough.
