Omar Apollo Releases New Project, ‘Apolonio’

Omar Apollo Allows You To Feed Off His Energy Through Out ‘Apolonio’

This project by Omar Apollo offers a variety of sounds, collaborations and moods. ‘Apolonio’ is a 9-track project that includes Omar’s notable releases, ‘Kamikaze’, ‘Stay Back’ & ‘Dos Uno Nueve (219)’, a track named after the area of his home state, Indiana. The versatility Omar displays on this project is beyond exceptional, whether it’s his flexibility transitioning from a Latin track to a full track in English or his work with features like Kali Uchis and Ruel. Knowing he wrote and self-produced his track ‘Stay Back’, Omar rose to the occasion when it came to working on the production of this project with Albert Hammond Jr, Mk.gee, DJ Dahi, and Michael Uzowuru.

Omar turned heads with his debut EP ‘Stereo’ in 2018, now in 2020 ‘Apolonio’ is a memorable staple of the year. Omar is never too far away from his guitar and in that two year span, Omar found himself breathing a different life into R&B. With the genre being a hub for talented musicians and creative artists, Omar has emerged as a recognizable star in the making.

Omar does not hold back from expressing himself through out the project. From the very beginning he touches on how he sees himself compared to what other people see on his track ‘I’m Amazing’. The track gives you a very groovy bounce for a little over 2 minutes. Lyrically another track has the same wavy flow, ‘Bi Fren’ is another boomin’ track on this project.

This project paints a perfect picture of the vocal ranges that fans of R&B are drawn to. ‘Want You Around’ featuring Ruel & ‘Hey Boy’ featuring Kali Uchis are two prime examples of this! The abstract sounds and vocals through out this whole project was exciting and easily catches you off guard, the ending of ‘Hey Boy’ is one of those moments. I must admit ‘Useless’ was the thing that caught me by surprise. A fusion between modern R&B and Alt-Rock, this track was something I didn’t know I needed.

It portrays the boundless sounds that Omar shines in, just like his past release ‘Dos Uno Nuevo (219)’ did before. I mention that track again because it has to be my favorite track on this whole project.

Omar will be announcing a one of a kind concert documentary airing on October 28th. The live performance will be place at Prince’s Paisley Park in Minneapolis, the doc will also have behind the scenes footage of Omar and his band working on ‘Apolonio’.
