Summer Walker returns this season following up her hit debut album “Over It” with her new EP “Life On Earth.”

The project includes features with PARTYNEXTDOOR and newcomer NO1-NOAH and was released in early July. Starting off the 5-track EP, “Let It Go” is a smooth Summer classic with the guitar assist and a great introduction. The second track, “SWV” featuring NO1-NOAH is an overall cute track – with spelling that keeps the song catchy.

“My Affection” featuring Toronto’s PARTYNEXTDOOR, a song about growing up, offers a fun chill mood to quarantine to. The 4th track “White Tee” featuring NO1-NOAH is a mellow trap, nightclub type track but doesn’t necessarily highlight what either artists are capable of. Going solo to conclude the project, Summer is in her element on “Deeper” with strong vocals, my favourite on this EP.

Overall, it felt as though the featured assists didn’t add much to the project but there are definitely some standout tracks with “Deeper” and “My Affection.” Although it’s not my favourite Summer project, it definitely offers a much needed vibe in these times. ‘Life On Earth’ earns itself a 4/5.
